🦃 Maple-Glazed Turkey Breast with Herbed Butter
Share
Thanksgiving wouldn’t feel the same without turkey, but this modern twist makes it easier and faster to prepare—perfect for smaller gatherings or anyone who prefers juicy, flavorful meat without the stress of roasting a whole bird. The combination of maple syrup and herb butter creates a beautiful balance between sweetness and savory richness.
Ingredients
- 1 whole turkey breast (about 3 lbs), bone-in or boneless
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp chopped fresh rosemary
- 2 tsp chopped fresh thyme
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a roasting pan with foil and place a rack on top.
- Prepare the herbed butter: In a small bowl, mix butter, rosemary, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper. Gently loosen the turkey skin and rub half of the butter mixture underneath, spreading the rest on top.
- Make the glaze: Combine maple syrup, olive oil, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl. Brush half of the mixture over the turkey.
- Roast: Place turkey on the rack and bake for about 1 hour 15 minutes (or until internal temperature reaches 165°F / 74°C). Baste every 20 minutes with the remaining glaze.
- Rest & serve: Remove from oven, cover loosely with foil, and let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
Tip
Serve with roasted vegetables or a light cranberry-orange relish. The glaze caramelizes beautifully—save the pan drippings for an instant gravy.
